During the Dutch Grand Prix race Carlos Sainz’s was given a 10-second penalty and 2 points to his super licence after the collision with Lawson.
Carlos Sainz’s f1 team Williams submitted a right of review to revisit the collusion with Sainz’s and Lawson in the 1st turn.
Representatives from both Williams and Racing Bulls attended a vital meeting with the stewards with the FIA later confirming the rescind the ruling.
Carlos Sainz’s did already serve the 10-second time penalty given to him during the race meaning nothing can be done about it.
However the 2 points that were initially given to Sainz’s super licence have been deleted post discussion with the FIA.
Williams later came out with a statement saying they were pleased with the outcome of ther right of review.
The Stewards are satisfied that the collision was caused by a momentary loss of control by Car 30 (Lawson)” The FIA said.
“However in the stewards assessment, no driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for that collision,” The FIA said.
“Car 55 contributed to the incident by taking the risk to drive close to car 30 leading him to have no room,” The FIA said.
“The decision having been rescinded it follows that the 2 penalty points imposed on Sainz’s are to be removed,” the FIA said.
“The stewards agree with Williams’ characterisation of the collision as a recent incident,” read the FIA report.
